I own several of Voshie's sets so I was really excited about new ones. As usual her textures are vibrant and detailed. It really looks like I'm flying in front of the moon. I didn't mess with the lighting much because I want you to really see the details and clarity of it. It's also why the top and bottom area bit cut off...I wanted to get in close to see the textures, but get just far enough away for you to see the effect as well. It's really the detail of a work that shows the time and care put into it. Texturing isn't just about giving a look, but also a feel. This really looks like I could reach forward and feel the craters of the moon.
This is her newest piece and I did try for lighting effects. You guys know I'm not real great at that, but I really want people to see the details of the pieces I blog and that requires light. I could have easily made it black as night in the background and done up some spooky lighting, but then you'd have missed the awesome detail of the textures.
Since I've begun making my own poses and props, I don't spend a lot of money buying them. Why should I when I can build my own? Well, Voshie is one of the two that prove that there are times when I definitely should and I do.
